Hari Raya this year came around during the Circuit Breaker and we were unable to celebrate this event in school as we did each year. We put our heads together and came up with a virtual event instead. Teachers prepared learning materials using technology as a medium and conducted experiences via Zoom with children and their families. Families dressed up and made a splash at this virtual event. When word got around to the media, they were fascinated with how Chatsworth Preschool have kept the Hari Raya spirit alive from the comforts of our own homes.

We are pleased to share with the community that Chatsworth Preschool (Piccadilly) has been awarded the SPARK Certification for its Kindergarten programmes. This certification is valid for six years with effect from May 2018. We, in Chatsworth Preschool value this endorsement as a validation of our efforts in providing quality care and education for our students. An Enriching Sensorial Gardening Experience

Friday, February 16, 2018

People of all ages can enjoy gardening, but children in particular will have lots of fun in the garden, in addition to reaping educational benefits and enrichment from the sensorial experience. On 11 January 2018, we had the opportunity to share our knowledge and resources with the rest of the community as we welcomed Mediacorp into our premises.

Our gardening expert, Ms Cynthea from SuperFarmers and some of our preschoolers from the K1 and K2 levels shared about the process of extracting dye naturally from a plant, the Blue Pea Flower. This natural dye was then used by a chef to create a Peranakan delicacy, Kueh Bong Kong. In this episode featured in The Red Dot, telecast on MediaCorp 5 on 16th February 2018, Ms Cynthea also described about the experiences provided to our children in Chatsworth as they engage in gardening sessions with her and the representative of SuperFarmers.
